Events

GiRyd intends to bring the members of the widespread and growing Rydberg community closer together. To facilitate this goal the priority programme hosts and supports a variety of events in Germany and abroad.

Seminars

German and international experts are invited to visit members of the priority programme and to showcase their work in seminars open to all GiRyd members as well as the interested scientific community. All seminars are announced via the GiRyd website.

Status Workshops

Annual status workshops bring together the participating groups and invited international experts in the field of Rydberg or highly excited systems, to define the rapidly developing state of the art of the field and discuss the most recent advances. They also provide a platform for project groups to network, discuss current developments and exchange ideas for cooperations and joint projects.

PhD Networking Events

The success of GiRyd projects is largely founded on the contributions of its early career researchers. To support their work GiRyd organizes meetings specifically designed to foster a supportive network between young researchers, to bring them into contact with leading experts in the field and to relay essential scientific and methodical knowledge and skills.

Annual meetings are held in conjuction with each GiRyd Status Workshops.

In September 2018 a joint intensive summer school was organized with and at Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel. A follow-up to this schummer school will be held in 2021 (please check back later for updates on this website).

Supported Events

Apart from organizing its own workshops and seminars GiRyd also supports its members in hosting events relevant to the network's research topics.
